Los Olivos Tasting Room
On Nov. 16, 1887, the Pacific Coast Railway extension from Los Alamos to Los Olivos was completed, officially putting Los Olivos “on the map.” Passengers and cargo traveled the narrow gauge railroad to points north as far as San Luis Obispo until the train made its last run in 1934. The southern terminus of the railroad was in front of nearby Mattei’s Tavern, where a stagecoach line continued over San Marcos Pass into Santa Barbara. Our corner, where the Refugio Ranch Tasting Room is now located, was reputedly the original ticket booth and fueling depot for the Pacific Coast Railway.
We have taken great care to preserve the structure and spirit of this local landmark. Our tasting room boasts two tasting bars, a serene courtyard and expansive outdoor deck. Please come by for a tasting of our current releases and enjoy a small taste of Los Olivos history!
